Reading your ads results

What spend, leads, cost per lead and clicks mean in your ads portal.

Your ads portal shows this month by default. Switch to last month or the last 90 days at the top.

The four numbers

  • Ad spend: what the platforms charged. The bar shows spend against your monthly budget; the small line marks where spending should be by today.
  • Leads: people who came from your ads and then called, emailed, filled in a form or bought. When Site Stats is on your website, we count these from your site; otherwise we use the platforms’ own numbers. The portal says which.
  • Cost per lead: ad spend divided by leads. The single most useful number for judging ads.
  • Clicks: people who clicked an ad. More clicks isn’t always better; clicks that turn into leads are what count.

Campaigns

Each campaign shows its spend, clicks and conversions, and who sees it. “Waiting for you” means it needs your approval.

How fresh are the numbers?

We update results from the platforms regularly; the chart shows the latest day included.
